Relic of Ritual and Rot was developed over a period of three weeks, during an immersive artist residency in upstate New York in the desolate winter. Daily poetic exchanges with my partner evoked a ritualistic creation bound by time and it's echo. Each word was interpreted through movement, drawing, and collage. The final performance encompassed the interdisciplinary nature of the process and touches on themes of decay, disconnection, and the body's transience in space and time. Sand Lake is a dance film that explores similar themes, rooted in improvisation and site specific exploration at various sites on Sand Lake Trails.
