DUSK DOG (Solo Live Performance)
Dusk Dog is a butoh solo that awakens the feral world of creatures in the wilderness. Survival. Waiting, sleeping, hunting, birth, disease, suffering and death are opened as passages that signal realities that humans have distanced themselves from as we evolve into states that bypass brutality, hardship, and the most honest elements of existence on the earth.
DUSK DOG (Film)
"Dusk Dog" will be accompanied by a three-part film that details the feral experiences present in the live solo performance. The film takes place in the dunes at night. Two beings hunt and haunt, dwelling in sand. Grains slip through their figures. They roam and shelter in wet sands, awaiting a cleaning from the sea. Featuring Robyn Wong Min Xuan with videography by Stepan Liubimov.

Performance: "Chimaera" with Oscar Suh-Rodriguez
November 14, 2026
The Franklin Castle
4308 Franklin Blvd
Cleveland, OH
CHIMAERA is the debut eponymous choreography by Oscar Suh-Rodriguez and Eilish Henderson’s collaborative duo.
The title is representative of a third corporeal spirit that is conjured when we meet in dance–part phantom, part demon, ashen, soot-footed and honey-skinned. The work began as an improvised dance on a sunny hill, then emerged once more on a midnight beneath a strawberry moon–feet on sand, fingers running through fossils, eyes hidden. The final work is as much transcription as it is composition, evoking images and movements discovered through our improvisations. We assembled the choreography from memories of dances, our mutual love of Butoh, and more. We then set out to craft the soundscape together, molding and refining as we climbed deeper into the dance. As we share many interests and appreciate similar aesthetics, it was easy to find a unifying palette without discussion. We stand upon the same black moon. We both understand the setting. We are both together receiving this landscape.

"Interbeing": Butoh/Contact Improvisation Workshop
August 30, 2026
1-4 pm
at Kestrels
Brooklyn, NY
Fee Structure:
$30-45 Sliding Scale
Description:
This workshop, entitled "Interbeing", facilitated by Eilish Henderson will act as a continuing inquiry into the ways in which we can approach contact improvisation from a butoh lens. The essence of our being is interbeing- with eternal and necessary threads connecting us to the land, rivers, and one another. Grounded in the notions of the body as water vessels, this workshop will act as a supportive movement practice that engages a deep sense of listening-prioritizing care, slowness, and awareness of gravity in moments of contact. Each session will be distinct and informed by those present.
The flow will look something like this: arrival/grounding, several guided exercises with images/textures, journaling/writing, partner work, trios, and a small segment for open improvisation/exploration before an embodied closing and reflection. Please bring layers of clothing, water, journal + writing utensil.

Drawing upon personal performance practice and eco-somatics, these classes will explore butoh rooted in ephemerality, memory and collective consciousness. Through visuals of transience and disappearance the body will expand upon itself guided by reaching towards past selves, situated through the sensorial breath individually and collectively. As we travel through time, we evade it. Come join and explore this methodology with any level of experience.
